April 2017

5. Science exhibition at Ferrando Speech and Hearing Centre, Barapani organised by Department of Atomic Energy, North Eastern Region, Shillong.

4. 15 day residential Indian Sign Language(ISL) training programme around 40 people especially form Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Meghalaya came for the training programme.

5. Several players from Bethany Society and two players from Ferrando Speech and Hearing Centre went to participate in the National Games of the Deaf which was held in Chennai. Meghalaya secured third position in the football game and also won certificates in various other games.

4. Nurses came for their observational tour to the Centre from Woodland Hospital.

3. Exchange programme with the university students who came to the Centre, around 600 students from different universities around the North Eastern region came and participated in the exchange programme.

2. Children's performance at North East Regional Workshop on Rehabilitation, Shillong.

1. A 3 day diagnostic and fitment programme organized by the Centre in collaboration with AYJNISHN Mumbai, around 185 people were screened and around 107 people were fitted with hearing aids.

February 2017

4. School Sports Week.

3. Nurses came for their observational tour to the Centre from Nazareth Hospital.

2. Child Safeguarding and Gender Mainstreaming, a one day workshop was organized by the Centre to impart the teachers of the educational unit the concept, meaning, importance and positive impacts of the above mentioned workshop. The workshop greatly enhanced the teachers understanding on the above topic.

January - February 2017

1. “Management of CWSN in Inclusive School at Elementary Level”, a 3 day training programme which was taken part by Miss Jacinta and Sr. Maya as the resource persons. They imparted around 38 elementary teachers on knowledge pertaining to the management of children with special needs.

1. Students, teachers and sister who went to Delhi for an Inclusive Educational Tour came back on the 4th of January 2017

About Ferrando Speech and Hearing Centre

Ferrando Speech and Hearing Centre established in 16th April 1996, reaches out to hearing impaired children from all over India, especially from the North East Region. The present batch of children comes from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland. There are also a few children from Kolkata and Bihar.
